Allit – overview of the Group. 58 As with every family-run firm that has been around for generations, our roots penetrate a long way into the past. They extend all the way back to 1840 in fact, the year when Carl Ackva founded Lederwerke Carl Ackva AG in Bad Kreuznach. Leather as a material for innovative products: the parallels with Allit, the successor of Leder- werke Carl Ackva AG since 1960, are unmistake- able, though one material has been replaced by another and the company site has been massively enlarged. We suspect that, in his own way, Carl Ackva would justifiably have fully identified with our slogan: ‘Expertise and knowledge create sophisticated technology’.
