Allit AG Kunststofftechnik
49 A toolbox to help us break in to the packaging business segment. At the beginning of the 1980s we took tentative steps into the trade and DIY segment. The age of power tools, of electronic tools for every- body, was just dawning, and we even developed our own toolbox, called the Dino, especially for promotions put on for manufacturers such as Black & Decker or Skill. It came in special campaign-related designs, for instance trans- parent or with room for extra accessories. This led to the creation of our Packaging busi- ness segment, which chiefly serves suppliers to the building and DIY trades. Reusability, durability and environmental friendliness were the buzz words of the 1980s. Today we can add individualisation, aesthetic product presentation and secondary and addi- tional benefits to that list. That is why we liked to integrate small but useful innovations such as hinge cups, hinge axes and tension locks: one of our slogans during that period was ‘Allit packs in the ideas’ – with good reason. Our printing and finishing techniques enable us to produce individualised packaging for a wide range of brands.
