Anniversary of Hans Kallinowsky:

50 Years of Entrepreneurship

Hans Kallinowsky, 69, Chairman of the Board of Directors, of Allit AG headquartered in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, looks back upon fifty successful years as an entrepreneur. It was back in February 1963 when the then 19-year-old pupil of the Lower Sixth Form at grammar school took up the challenge of leading two battered companies owned by his family out of a period of serious crisis, namely Carl Ackva AG (established in 1840) and Allit Plastik-Werk OHG (established in 1960). The profitability of the two companies had already been unsatisfactory for years so that the young man could easily anticipate the difficulties he would encounter in his effort to repay the accumulated debts. But thanks to the prudent leadership of Hans Kallinowsky, the dramatic situation of fifty years ago was gradually reversed. Over time, Allit AG has evolved into an internationally successful medium-sized company equipped with a sound equity base and holding further companies and participations.

Flashback: From the outset, young entrepreneur Hans Kallinowsky could firmly count on the support from important employees and reliable advisors. He tackled all the challenges coming his way and took major decisions with a view to rehabilitating the two companies. Already in 1966, he managed the companies as their sole member and shareholder.

In 1967, Hans Kallinowsky married his fiancée Ursula, a qualified bank clerk, who has been supporting him actively in the management and rehabilitation of the family businesses ever since they got engaged. In 1971, their son Jochen was born, his brother Karsten followed three years later. Ursula Kallinowsky dedicated herself to ensuring the affectionate education of their two sons whilst shielding her husband involved in a demanding career from domestic encumbrances.

In 1973, Hans Kallinowsky purchased metrology company Dr. Heinrich Schneider Messtechnik GmbH. Another strategically significant move was the acquisition of DIY supplies company makuba Heimwerker GmbH in 1989. In 1992, Carl Ackva CS was established in Carlsbad (Czech Republic). It was also early on that Hans Kallinowsky became aware of the potential and future importance of the Asian markets: When ZSM Ltd. In Qingdao (China) was founded in 1995, he entered into a joint venture that existed until its dissolution in 2012. Already in the year 2000, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allit was established in Qingdao; this subsidiary is continuously expanding. In 1998, the businesses belonging to the group of companies were integrated to form Allit Aktiengesellschaft Kunststofftechnik. The important French market has been served by Allit France S.A.R.L. since 2009.

Apart from the work in his company, Hans Kallinowsky has always dedicated a significant part of his remaining leisure time to political and societal activities. In 1966, he joined the German Free Democratic Party (“FDP”) and, since 1967, served for decades in the Party’s Town and District Committee, in its group on the Town Council (1969-1992) as well as for several years as a Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Municipal Services of Bad Kreuznach. In addition, he acted as a member and Chairman of the Representatives’ Assembly of the German General Local Health Insurance (AOK), as a founding member and spokesman of the Junior Executives and Managers Association (“Wirtschaftsjunioren”) of Bad Kreuznach, as a member of the General Assembly and Vice-President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (“IHK”) of Koblenz, as a member of the Supervisory Board of the People’s Bank “Volksbank Rhein-Nahe-Hunsrück” and as Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Viktoriastift foundation. For eight years, he also sat in as an Honorary Judge on a labour court and acted as a member of the Executive Committee of the Riding and Racing Association of Bad Kreuznach.

Mr Kallinowsky’s honorary and entrepreneurial accomplishments have been recognised by the award of the medal “Freiherr-vom-Stein-Medaille” in 1990 and by the presentation of the enterprise medal “Wirtschaftsmedaille” of the Federal Land of Rhineland-Palatinate in 2005.

The sprightly 69-year-old jubilee enjoys sporting relaxation in horse riding and bike tours in his home region.
